Kairos Pinot Gris

Even, moderately deep ruby­red colour with some garnet hues. The nose is attractively soft with aromas of cherries and soft red berry fruit, lifted by red florals and pretty whole berry confectionary nuances. Medium­bodied, light flavours of soft red fruits unfold savoury mineral, dried herb and red floral detail and a touch of oak resin. The mouthfeel is fresh and slippery with fruit sweetness allied to juicy acidity. Supple tannins underline the palate, forming a positive core and carrying the flavours to a dry, fine textured finish with savoury red fruit and mineral notes. This is a medium­bodied Pinot Noir with pretty red fruit flavours and a supple mouthfeel. Serve with risottos, pasta and poultry dishes over the next 4+ years. ‘Fait Main’ means ‘made by hand’. Dijon clone fruit from Te Muna Road in Martinborough, fully destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 24­ 26 days on skins and aged 16 months in seasoned French barriques.
